574 hydraulic issues

Hi. This is my first time posting here so
bear with me. I have an international 574
with a front loader on it. Recently went to
fire it up and the rear hydraulics raised as
high as they would go but the lever wasn't
touched and the loader doesn't respond when
it's levers are moved. Any idea what's
causing this? My knowledge of hydraulic
systems is very limited but I'm eager to
learn. Thanks for your time.

Hi, is it below freezing where you live? Could the problem be caused by ice in the hydraulics? Does the power steering work?
Do you hear a buzzing sound from the hydraulic relief valve? Make sure the draft control lever is all the way forward. How is the loader connected into the hydraulic system? Via the remote hydraulic outlets at the rear of tractor or connected via power beyond by the 3 pt levers?

It is below freezing but it's been in the 40s and 50s the past few days and parked in a greenhouse so it isn't frozen. The power steering does work. Where is the hydraulic relief valve located? The draft control lever is all the way forward. And the loader is hooked up to the remote outlets. Another thing I should point out is arms for the 3 point hitch seem to be much higher than they used to be when controlling them with the lever.

The hitch has priority to aux valves. I say the hitch valve spool is stuck in raise position, thus blocking all flow to aux valves and sending hitch to max height, with fluid now running over relief valve. Pull and push positon control lever vigorously several time, you may get lucky. Draft control link may have popped over out of place or linkage rusted in place and caused some breakage or bending.

Hi, relief valve is under left foot rest where the hydraulic filter is. Normally you can hear it buzzing or squealing when it is beening bypassed.
Do as Pete 23 says. If no results there could be dirt in unloading valve under the seat. Post back if still having the same problem.
Will 3pt go down with engine turned off?

OK. Finally got back to playing with it. Tried the lever, didn't do anything. Tried giving it a couple wacks with a hammer, nothing. The valve is definitely whining. We haven't touched the draft controls in ages so that shouldn't have caused this.
