Engine Question

Question. Will a Super A engine with water pump bolt right in an A or B farmall? Or do I need a pressurized radiator also? Or will non pressurized radiator work OK?

Thanks for the help.

Todd

Some of the fittings for the radiator connections are on the wrong side, if that is remedied, the radiator will work if you don't intend to make it work radically. There is a difference in height of the hood front nose and radiator, so a radiator out of a SA or SC will be too tall IIRC. Jim

Let me explain a little more.

A friend has what he calls a Super A or Super C engine with a water pump. Just checking if it would bolt in an A or B farmall without changing anything? Could I take water pump off and run it non pressurized?

Todd

Which is it? A Super A (or C) engine with a water pump will go in with minimal* problems. A Super C or Super A1 engine will have the problems JAN and ff described.

* I think even with a Super A engine you will find a small snag with the lower bolt where the front bolster attaches to the engine. The fix is a little hardware juggling. Otherwise, it is a bolt in.

If you want to eliminate the water pump to make a Super C engine fit, you need the early style elbows (both upper and lower) and need to change the head gasket.

You will also find the Super C engine turns faster than the A engine. Depending on use, that could be a positive or a negative.

bolts rite in no problems i have one now in a BN nice to have hy if you want. Also have a B that someone used SA stuff on so it has rockshafts .
