Rare? Farmall factory miss!

Anyone know if this piece is rare? In the
family farmall M we found and restored a few
years ago, this was stuck inside the front
end bolster. It looks like tumbling media to
knock casting edges down or off.

Found this in front bolster of a M. Was told they were used in a tumbler to remove casting sand and slag from castings.

(quoted from post at 18:31:55 12/14/16) probably not rare. It is surprising at the stuff left inside tractors from factory

Its not just tractors you find stuff in. Years ago when I was an F-16 mechanic in the USAF I was pulling a panel off one of our birds (rare panel to pull) under the left wing and found a pair of needle nose pliers that looked like they had been there since the factory build. Where is was it was surprising that it had not jammed up the flap/aileron.

My Sargent was working with me and man was he PO'd and raised on heck of a stink about it.

When I worked at the factory we would frequently find those things in boxes of hardware and other small parts. They were some kind of ceramic.

The number one thing we find in the wings of aircraft are flashlights. It is astounding and unnerving what is hidden from eyesite that can move
to the wrong place and cause catastrophic failures.

Our hangar was next to the hanger where they fixed leaky fuel cells. One story was that a young woman was exiting the fuel cell with her arms up over her head and parts of her upper anatomy were preventing her from continuing her exit. A member of the ground crew needed to make the necessary adjustments to allow her to fully exit the access panel.
