Bent pto shaft

Ok so I'm new to my farmall h but not new to tractors. I have a snowblower that I have tested on it and it's a little big to say the least but the first snowfall I tried using it in 6-8" of fluff And I got a bad vibration. The shaft in the tractor is now bent and twisted. The chain that runs the augers on the blower was found broke in two also. I'm guessing the chain broke and bound causing the tractor damage but I'm not sure. My brush hog will really lug it sometimes almost stalling it not bending the pto though.

It will probably need to be replaced and a new seal installed. The blower needs to either have a
shear pin in the drive, or a slip clutch. Without that safety "fuse" PTO repair will be a regular
event. Jim

Does the hitch geometry allow full range of movement without bottoming out the driveline? Also, are the u-joints indexed correctly? Neither can directly explain the broken chain but both
can cause nasty vibrations.

You probably know this already but the transmission-driven PTO and relatively fast reverse speed make the H a less-than-ideal tractor for running a snowblower.

Reverse gear is way too fast on that tractor to run a snowblower in anything but a few inches of fluff. Mostly you'll be pushing the snow into a pile regardless. The rest of the blower's just for show.

Most tractors except hydros have a way too fast of a reverse gear but at least they have live PTO so you can ease into the snow with the clutch.

Yes I know it's not ideal. But it's all I got so I figured I'd try it. I figured worse case it would bog the tractor down not bend my pto. Lol. Blower is around 7 ft dual auger two stage.
