Throttle Shaft length for an M

Looking to buy a carb kit for my M. It is a 1950 and the carb is a 50983DC. The places I look need to know the throttle shaft length. I looked in my parts book and foud the two different shafts and what serial numbers they correspond to, but no lengths listed. I tried IH's website and looked up the parts but once again no lengths listed. Any idea what I need or just tear the carb apart and measure it (tractor isn't close right now so that's why I'm asking this) Thanks

50983DC would have a shaft after the serial number break.
Yours should be about 3-5/16 long and the other around 1/8 inch shorter. Would need to look for a exact length. Kits are very common for a 50983DC carburetor.

I have always had excellent service from http://www.mcdonaldcarb.com/category_s/102.htm?searching=Y&sort=13&cat=102&show=10&page=2
