What is the correct spark plug for a 38 F20 ? Mine has Champion 0 com . These only have 1/2 " of thread . The thread in the head is 1" total . I found an old plug that had an extended electrode that is about 1" from the plug washer putting it closer to the piston . This plug was in my engine at one time .The plug # is W89D . What plugs are available to match W89D ? Thanks

DeltaRed is correct for the Champion version. Autolite 3076 is another. I personally like the Autolite 3077 or the Champion 589 (aka W89D) plugs for all my F-series tractors. Unfortunately, the Autolite 3077 is no longer made and only NOS is out there if you can find it. Champion still makes the 589 plug, but they are a wee bit pricey.

I have been running Champion W 14 in my F 20 for last 30 years. W 18 and W 20 are hot plugs and if you run gas only and engine is in good
shape W 14s work fine.

D Beatty, good point. The most commonly available Champion W series plugs, in heat range order (lowest to highest):

W10, W14, W18, and W20

IIRC, Champion now lists these as 510, 514, 518, and 520. They are also categorized as Industrial plugs..........

A few years ago I tried some new Autolite 3077 plugs in my electric start F20. But right after putting them in, it became hard to start. So replaced them with the Autolite 3076 and now it starts right up. So not sure why the 3077 didn't work for me. Only thing I can think of is that my dad put high altitude pistons in it when it was almost new. Prior to that I think it had Champion W14s in it. Al
