Totally unrelated to anything, I am introduced to a guy who says he has an f-14 in his barn. Rears are steel. Fronts are rubber and shot. Engine is loose but tractor is not running. Some parts removed but all there and come with it. He wants it to go but wants $600. Really cannot claim to be an expert on value of these. I have not seen it but would not be surprised if it were very honest...that is to say no paint. How is that price?

On steel it puts it into a show tractor or little use toy. So if it has a tight lower end, it might be a good buy. if you want it. Jim

Dave, On rubber running it would be worth $600-$800. If it had an extras could bring the price up. Not much money to make on these tractors anymore. oldiron29

Offer 400 and come up from there, unless as mentioned, its got some of the oddball goodies on it. In some cases, those are worth morehan the whole tractor. Ive seen electric start setups sell for 2000, decent fenders sell for 1000, and so on.....

Appreciate the info! I will give it some thought and see do I want to talk to the guy. I would just as soon let it go as to try to dicker with the guy. Doesn't matter how right you are, people want what they want. Thanks!

Doesn't sound like you want it that baddy -- blow it off.

An F-14 "older restoration" on round spoke wheels brought $800 at the IHCC consignment auction. Another "needs work" that I would call a project or a parts source brought $200.

You can't pay much more than the scrap price and only because it would be easier for him to scrap the tractor than to sell it to you. There were just too many of these to make them scarce and some are still being used for one thing or another. Even paying scrap price it will be a labor of love to restore and you will never recover your investment.
