544 diesel pump and injectors

What kind of diesel pump and injectors does the
544 have, there're not like a 560 are they and how
dependable are they and are parts readily available
for these if needed, I just bought one of these
tractors and don't know much about them
 
Pump and probably the injectors are CAV/LUCAS/Delphi. AFAIK, parts should hot be a problem at a Delphi-licensed IP shop.
 
Why are the making replacement parts for these? I just bought one of these tractors and was hoping to not have a oddball
 
If the filter service is regular and no water gets to the pump they seldom need repair, other than the leaks that can occur over time on any pump. I still see pumps come in for leaks, and can repair them. If water or dirt gets into it, or junior tries to take it apart that's when things get expensive really fast. Just repaired a VA pump for the neighbor's late 706.
 
I did see an IH 756 at an auction once that someone had replaced the Bosch VA with a RoosaMaster DB pump. When I overhauled my Hydro 84 I found it would not be hard to adapt a CAV DPA from a Cummins 3.9 with some machine work on the drive hub..
 
When my buddy had trouble with his 574 with the Bosch VA pump I did some research and found that IH did make a kit to replace that pump with a VE, I've never seen one, but we were prepared to modify the front cover to put a VE on it.
