Did Farmall H's come with a wide front axle?

I have a tractor that seems to be identified as a '51 Farmall H, but has a standard front end.
Now from what I have read , then only the W-4 have standard front axles? Any insight?

A wide front axle for the Farmall H was available as an option. The one in your picture looks like a genuine Farmall wide front.

That looks like a standard IHC wide front mounted in the forward position. They could also be mounted further back, with about the same wheelbase as the tricycle front end. This would only be useful if side-mounted implements were not used as it would reduce the turning circle a bit.

that is not a standard axle... its the optional wide front end as i have the same one also. the w4 has the standard axle.

What I meant was it looks to be a standard wide front for a Farmall H. The Standard (W-4, W-6, W-9) tractors are entirely something different as far as axles etc. are concerned. Threw axle shown looks exactly like the one on my grandfathers 1945 Farmall M except that on that tractor the axle was mounted in the rearmost position
