Well I finely put an international in the barn. It is 2/3 of a 3500a loader tractor. Non-running. 4 cyl diesel. Hydro. Can someone tell me where to find the fuel pump? My fuel line has a plastic inline filter in it. There is no lines going to or fror the fuel filters on the right side of the motor. Wireing is a mess. Need to find a 3point? Backhoe? Looks like a lot of work. Thanks for all the help. I will have a lot of question. Dale

Those are a stout little tractor Dale, good find! Looks like the D239 is mostly there? That is a pricey little engine and injection pump, (Bosch VA I think?), so you're lucky they are both there. Hopefully they both work well. That 239 is a 4 cyl variation of the 6 cylinder 358 in my 826, so if you can't find anyone that can give you a direct answer, I'll go look at the fuel line routing on the 826, maybe that will give you an idea where they go from filter to inj pump. Maybe?
How bout this?? Its for a 2500A, but probably the same

Looks like a D239 'german' diesel. It has no 'fuelpump'/lift pump. Gravity feed to the Bosch injection pump. The rockshaftand the lower link mounts are there. Not sure if it ever had a backhoe or not Could someone have removed the fuel filters and hooked direct? How about some more pics of the motor-both sides. Looks like you bought a can of worms........

I got it to fire on starting fluid. My fuel tank is my left step. It is lower than my injector pump. Maybe that is why it has a valve stem fixed in the fuel cap.

Hi Dale, as others have said that is a German D-239 Diesel engine and the base tractor frame appears to be similar to the agricultural IH 574. The normal fuel tanks on a 574 are a saddle tank mount on the rear fenders behind the seat with the fuel outlets on the bottom of each tank. The fuel system is totally gravity fed on the 574. Yours appears to have a completely different fuel tank system.
On the 574 the fuel filters are on the right side of engine just above the top of oil pan. The D-239 was used in many applications and check the link below for left side fuel filter installation.

Re Bosch injection pump, the fuel line that goes in the top is the fuel line return from the top of the injectors. Normally the return line comes from top of injectors to back of engine where there is a "T" fitting and one line goes back to the fuel tank and the other line goes to the top of the injection pump.
The main fuel line into the injection pump is at the front of the pump.

Re STOP/START/RUN lever/control cable on the side of the injection pump: Lever all the way rearward against plunger is STOP position, lever START position is where the plunger is fully extended out Stop position, RUN position is fully forward against the power screw.

Do not use too much ether or you can cause engine lockup and break a piston ring.
