Got a lead on a 350, it is for sure a Farmall 350, I know that much. The owner tells me it was given to him a few years back, and it was running at that point. BUT, the previous owner told him that once it got warmed up to temp, it would die, and not restart until it cooled back down? He was going to work on it, but retired from farming, and moved, and gave the tractor to this other guy (a friend of mine) who hasn't done anything with it.
I thought he was talking about the IH Engines, that start on Gas, and then run on Diesel. But the other night on the phone, he tells me that it is a little uncommon. He said that he doesn't know a lot about them, but that it was a FACTORY option to have a 40 horse, 4cyl Continental Diesel engine in it? Direct start. Is that true?
Tractor is said to be factory with this engine, power steering, wide front, and a Fast Hitch. Nothing was said about trans, or a possible T/A?
Is there such a thing as a 350 with a Continental, and if so, is it rare? What is it worth? Needs rear tires, and a lot of little misc work. And then of course what ever is wrong with the engine. I am looking at it for a working tractor for myself, and then possibly sell one of the M's. Bryce
