311 vs. 309 plows

looking at the adds; what is the difference between the 311 and the 309 plows?

not looking to buy, just looking anyway; however, they would look good behind Mable.

For me the 309 was International's version of their light duty plow. They were manufactured in the days
of the change-over to 3 point equipment. The same plow in 3-point mount was called the 309A. The 311 was
the heavy duty version. Both models used the same nomenclature for the first number indicating the number
of bottoms. Thus, a 211 was the same as the 311 except one fewer bottoms. If Mable is your Super C I
doubt that it/she will be happy with a 309. That plow weighs about 700 pounds per my IH literature. And
that 3rd bottom is a long way back.
