Farmall regular barn find !

I couldn't say no! Lol a family friend told me about
his neighbors tractor that been sitting in the barn for
the past 15yrs. The barn was getting ready for
demolition and need this tractor out of the barn. I
went and looked at it. It was running when it was
last parked 15yrs ago. Complete unit with rear
sickle bar and another set of steel wheels. Offer him
250 bucks and he said if I could get it out of the
barn it was mine! Lol my first old steel wheel farmall
have several letter series and hundred tho. Going to
see if I can get it running and will need to find some
front rims/tires. Gas tanks look rough too. What
other gas tanks will interchange with this one?? Any
advice on these old regulars will help me out.
Thanks Jim.

Good gravey, you are starting out with yard art and turning it into a tractor! More power to ya. That is going to be an adventure.

James, Before you go and start buy parts, I would see if engine is stuck? If you get it free you can alway plumb a tempery lawn mower tank to the carb to get it running.
Once you get it running than you can fix it up. It will need alot of cleaning fuel system, a mag with good hot spark and compression than she will run. oldiron29

(quoted from post at 19:24:16 11/20/16) A real good find. Still has the correct manifold.

I located a '29 regular in a field a couple of years ago. Figured it would make a good yard art tractor, as it was missing the carb, the engine side covers, and was stuck.
Turned out the mag was seized but the motor was actually free. I removed the pan, cleaned up the interior of the motor, bought and rebuilt an original carb, located a good used mag, and with some fiddling got it running. The thing actually runs quite well. Good oil pressure and no smoke. The radiator had multiple leaks, which sealed themselves with debris after running for a few minutes. The clutch was stuck, but became free after driving around in my field. I took the tank off, put a few cups of gravel in it, strapped it to my big Moline rear well, and drove around.... which cleaned it up pretty good.
So you may get lucky and actually have a running tractor with a little work.

Ok... Now THIS is a good deal! I wish I would have stumbled upon a regular instead of the H and Allis, but either way, you and I both got GREAT deals this week!

Love to see a video of it once you get it running!

Its even a narrow tread to boot! Has the early style rear wheel centers with offset wheels which are hard to find. Id say you did real good for $250

That's a good $250 buy you got there. Shouldn't be too hard to get it going, there's so few parts on those things. If you need any engine parts, I have a bit of stuff left from my parts Regular. Pretty much engine stuff is all I have left, and a multiple disc clutch that looks like new, if you need any of that kind of stuff once you get underway.

Congrats on that one! I use tractors from the 60's for my little farm yet, so I've sorta got my eye open for a project like you just came across! Just think, you might have even saved it from the scrape yard!

Man, that's a beauty. It's going to be a fun project!

We found a lot of parts on ebay for our old Regular. Ours will remain rusty.

You will likely only find steel fronts from an F20. The actual Regular steel front wheels are getting scarce... we looked for two years before settling for F20 fronts. If you do find Regular front steel wheels - they will be costly.

Hope you post pics of as you go through that old critter.

Congratulations! Beautiful ol' Farmall. I have a '28 and '29 stashed away inn a dry shed for a future project, Both are in far, far worse shape. Best of luck with yours!
