Hi, can someone tell me if you can replace the front crank seal on a 140, by just pulling the pulley and installing the seal. Or is it like the Farmall B, where you have to pull the timing cover and put the
seal in from the back? Thanks

Yes just like B remove radiator, steering sector then you can pull the pullet and remove front cover same engine.

Know what you are buying when you buy a seal. The seal part number is 49177D. This is for the seal alone. Another number is 378193R91 which is a seal kit including a wear sleeve to eliminate any wear groove on the pulley. Some sources use the kit number for the seal alone without the wear sleeve. Your local auto parts store should be able to cross 49177D.
