M 12v conversion update:

Ok yall, i've got my M converted over to 12v with a mag. I had to order a DPDT on-on toggle switch and got everything working and charging .

Now, i have a 4 post light switch. looking at the diagrams on a google search there is a wire leading from the F terminal on the gen to the light switch..... no there is no gen but a alt. how do i wire up this switch

Leave the wire from generator F terminal disconnected or remove it. It controlled charge rate on old generator, alternator should have internal regulator.

remove wire from 4 pos. switch do not hook either end to any thing or fold field wire back on itself and tape it. it does not need to be used with an alternator. if the wire is left and taped up it will be easier in future if someone wants to restore as original.

ok, just spent the last 3 hours getting the right head light to work. put in new 12v 1145 bulbs.

not using switch at that time, i just ran a jumper wire to the new wire going to both light. NO power. so i tore everything down and started checking where the power was stopping. I had to clean everything.

the root cause of the problem was a grounding problem; again tore everything down and with a brass brush, 100 grit sand paper and elbow grease, i cleaned everything. got it working that way.

next was the switch. with y'alls help, the switch is good. question, what is the first click on the switch for? rear light? aint got that far yet.

I even got the BOSS helping today. came in with the glass lens and was gonna clean it up. the BOSS took it from me and now it looks like it new.

The 3-position light switch is off dim bright
