Hydraulics holding pressure.

We have a 656 that has become almost impossible to switch the lines when going from using the bucket to hooking up the brush hog. There is so much back pressure remaining in the system even after shutting the tractor off and attempting to bleed pressure with bucket controls. Any ideas?

If you are leaving the bucket up in the air, you are not bleeding the pressure off. It must be on the ground or somehow supported.

Also, use the float feature of the hydraulic valve. The hydraulic valve has two positions forward from neutral. The first is pressure down, and the second is float. Float opens the valve and lets oil flow freely in both directions, relieving pressure.

We'll give that a whirl. It's somewhat of a new problem. We're not doing anything different than we have for the past 12 years or so and never had this kind of trouble.
