Farmall M bolster

Did some maintenance on my Farmall M.
The steering had some a little slop and was hard to turn.
After reading some post on the bolster I took mine apart.
I found everything including the bushings in relative good shape given the 70+ years of wear.
My question is how does grease get to the thrust bearing?
I found the thrust bearing in good shape but filled solid with thick almost dried grease.
I cleaned it out and repacked it with red wheel bearing grease.
I can grease the lower bushing but cannot figure out how the grease gets to the bearing.
I cleaned everything up and reassembled the bolster. I turned the vertical shaft around 180* as suggested in previous post.
It wasn't too bad of a chore once I deciding how to crib up the tractor.
Loosening the four connecting bolts to the bottom post was a bear.
