F-12/14: Where is the stamp to tell if the trans is high ...

Where to you find the stamp to tell if the transmission is high speed? I would like to get an f-14 fast enough to drive across
the Mackinac Bridge and I need to get it above 10 mph. I figure if I can get a high speed rear end (6 mph) put a heisler to
double it, I can get to 12 mph. There was a 9mph rear end, so that may get me to 18mph (warp speed!).

So with out cracking open the rear end, I am hoping to find a parts tractor to donate warp capability.

The flat surface above the PTO. K, L, M, X, and Z are faster speeds. L & Z are the fastest road speeds. K & M are the "7mph" gears, X is faster in all gears, but top is only 5 1/2.

Ron you can get some speed with taller tires too. Or you could trailer it across too. I know not the same as driving. I have been across now for the 8th time in 9 years. This next year will be the 10th anniversary for event.

F standard third gear 3.84 mph
K 6.60 mph
L 9.58 mph
M 6.30 mph
X 5.50 mph
Z 9.58 mph
These are all third gear speed, some combination of gear change second gear speed also
I have an L on an F-14

(quoted from post at 18:20:36 10/25/16) DO all f-12/14 tractors have stamps on them?
Earlier 12's may not have the stamp, usually if a tractor is not stamped they have standard speeds and are therefore F transmissions

I have never seen an F-12 with the stamp
Can't say all F-14 have the stamp, but most do.
If the gearing is other than standard, It will have a stamp for sure.

My picture shown is my 36 F12, and my 37 is stamped too

I checked tonight and none of the trans are stamped on the tractors that are 1935 thru 1933. I found F on all the 1936 thru 1939.
My neighbor has a f-14 that hasn't run in years but boy could it haul on the road, the trans on that one is F; so I figure it must
have been converted at the dealer.

(quoted from post at 07:54:43 10/27/16) My '36 F12 has a F but directly under the F is a upside down L. Anybody know what this means?

No, but I have seen that at a show before too!
