getting my H home

I am getting ready to bring my 1942 Farmall H home (super excited). It has 4 flat tires, so my questions how bad will I mess the rims up getting it on the trailer? I have 2 newer rear rims and they are already rusted through so not worried about them mainly the front.

If there is any chance the tires will hold air even for a short while, it will make loading the tractor much easier if you can pump them up.

Even if there's no electricity where you're picking the tractor up, a 21 gallon compressor can put 15-20lbs of air in the front tires easily. Anything you can do to reduce rolling resistance, even if you have a large tractor or a heavy duty winch to pull it up on the trailer.

winching evenly on the top of the tires reduces force by 50% or so on the device/s being used to pull it up. Another idea is to use a earth filled loading ramp to get it to height as it is loaded. Jim

I have loaded and used a good many tractor with flats. I do try if I can to air them up since they do roll easier with air in the tires. But I also have a compressor under the hood of my pick up truck which comes in handy even if the tires only hold air for 5-15 minutes. We got an old 8N ford years ago that had flat tires and we had a bunch of equipment that came with it guy I was with ask me how we where going to load the equipment and I told him with the tractor. He said it has flats and I told him so what the tires are shot so will not hurt the rims to use it to load the stuff. up

Jack the tractor up first. Then air up the tires. The weight of the tractor on the folded over tubes can rip them and then they will only hold a little air for a shorter period of time.
