I have a 1937 Farmall F-20 with 36 inch F&H Spoke wheels. I am looking to put new tires on this tractor. The current tires, which I believe are original, are Firestone 11.25X36 Ground Grip. This tractor also has a mounted cultivator which I plan to leave installed.
My guestion is what make and model of tire would be suggested to use as a replacement ... which would the best tire to use and "look correct" for this tractor.
According to the tire charts I have read a 11.25X36 is equivalent to a 14.9X36 today. Looking at a modern tractor with 14.9 tires, I think they look to wide. Is this just an illusion or would mounting tires on the narrower F-20 rim pull the tire in far enough that they would look correct on the F-20?
