34HM-20 corn picker mounting

when i bought this picker i was told that it was mounted on a farmall h. after purchasing another farmall h i believe that the belly mounted lift was off of a farmall 300 or 350. does anyone have any pictures of this belly unit hooked up before i try and get a 300 or 350? any of you interested in purchasing this picker? i believe it is complete besides the hydraulic cylinder and the tube that goes between the two picking units. it is in good shape for its age and has much of its original paint. here are some pictures. the parts manual says the braces and the hydraulic cylinder pivot are for a 300 or 350. what do any of you think?

Be cautious about putting that heavy picker on a H. You can easily bend the axles. A M can cary the weight if you are cautious. We preferred to put them on a Diesel M which had even bigger axles.

Best as I can tell that is a model 24 picker. Not near as heavy as a 2M or 2ME! If so the H should not have much trouble with it IMHO. Never heard of a 34HM-20 unless that preceded the 2M before WW2. The only mounted that had 34 as part of the model number was the model 234 which was the last mounted picker IH built. Armand

Look at the snapping rolls they are combination rolls because there is no husking bed making it much lighter, they did not pick very clean.2ME,2MH,234 pickers very heavy,I have broke axles on M and Super MTA.My old 2ME manual shows mounting on H with special frame under tractor with outboard bearing on each axle. Can,t remember seeing one let alone the extra work needed in taking wheels off to mount support frame. All pickers a chore to put on.Later years I left 234 on and bought another tractor.Scott

That model replaced the model 24. We had the 24 first then traded for the 20 which had improvements. Ran many acres with both of them. Its been too long ago to remember the undercarriage mounts ours were used on the M.

It was used on both the Hand M they also used one side for use on the C same unit just one side. Those bring some serious money now.

does anyone have any pictures of the 34HM-20 or 24 pickers mounted up though or someone who has one of these pickers mounted? or even a picker mounted on a farmall 300 or 350? thanks

I have a model 24 picker mounted on an H....it works fine, we used it this year (2016). Does anyone know what year they were made?

'45-'52. The 24C was made in '53.
