IH 584 Diesel surging filters repalced

Just got back form doing the air and fuel filters on this 584. Seemed to take forever for the air to bleed out of the filters but got that done.

The owner fired it up and said it sure sounds a lot better. But the proof will come when he runs it but he had company so all he did was fire it up and run it for a few minutes
 
Did you have a full tank of fuel-they gravity bleed real easy then.I usually open the bleed screw on the last filter before the pump and wait;all of a sudden fuel will be gushing if the tank is very full.Then they start right up!I was wondering tho if yours could be/or have been sucking air-that will make a diesel surge,but I have not ran into that yet on a tractor,only trucks.The fuel lines sometimes rub thru under the tranny cover.Hope it is stays fixed for you.Mark
 
Tank was not full but did have a good bit in it. This is a customer machine but since he found me I am pretty much his go to guy for repairs. So if he has other problems he is very likely to call me
