Why not just get right parts

Because the parts aren't available and it's just a simple straight rod running from the valve up to a guide mounted on the light bar.

All you need is a piece of 3/8" round bar. Bend a 90 degree in one end for the valve, and either forge a loop on the other end or thread it for a knob.

You didn't say if it's a valve like IH used and is the double acting valve or unit in center housing missing a lever or both? or none?

On my M, I wanted more precise control over the sickle bar on a mower so I fabricated a bracket and mounted a single lever valve next to the right headlight. I welded an extra lug on the pull rod to keep the pump engaged full time and circulate the oil though the remote control valve.

Sometimes, like on a sickle bar, you want to just nudge the bar up or down an inch or two and you don't have that precise control with the pull rod.

Must be a local thing.........I see them at salvage yards, on flea pay etc.

Surely you can make up a new rod, holder, springs etc.
