1594 belt change

Water pump belt broke on 1594. To change it you have to unbolt the hyd pump drive hub and slide it forward to get the belt on. Got it loose and moved some but won't go all the way. The IT manual shows an IPB of the assembly but no instructions. There is a rubber plug in there that I believe acts a bumper for the hyd pump drive shaft. It acts like that plug is stuck to the hub. When you pry on it the obstruction isn't solid but feels rubbery. Any one else ever had this problem? or is there something else I am missing?

Doug,
There is an o-ring inside between the hub and the shaft.It goes better if two people pry evenly one on each each sides. The o-ring will roll out over shaft. You may need to remove the o-ring from the hub to reinstall hub then work the o-ring back in last.Try putting grease on o-ring before you remove it from the hub it may slide back over shaft without removing it from hub.

Thanks for the info. Got it done today. What is the purpose of the o ring? The old one was pretty buggered up and didn't have one so it went together w/o one.
