806 electrical questions Flashers too

Hello ALL! been a while since I have been here but I do remember where to go to get some red tractor info! Just put an alternator on an 806 diesel (was a generator.) Now I want to get the lights to work. The light switch has the off position and then there is three other positions. In the first two positions the instrument lights turn on but in the final position they turn off, in that final position the 1 inside light on the left fender comes on. It has 4 fender lights facing forward and one light on the rear that has a functioning bulb Both large and small one behind the large one. The switch has some sort of coil on it too. Can you tell me what each position is supposed to do? I would also like to add a yellow flasher to each fender but I have no idea how to wire them in nor do I know what is needed, i.e. thing to make them actually flash and which position to add them on the switch. Bulbs on the fenders all say 12v auto tractor and do all work because I tried them on the fixture that worked. I switched the wires on the one that worked to try the bulb on the left fender on the outside and I could see smoke rolling inside the bulb. I assume I destroyed that one. The bulbs are similar looking in pairs as far as the lens is concerned. I have found wiring diagrams here and are useful but need a little more info. Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance.

Instrument lights should work in all three on positions.
1st position the outer two lamps on the fenders will be on, but dim, from running through the coiled resister on the light switch, red tail light and flashers.
2nd position is same as 1st except the outer lamps are bright.
3rd position all lights on front of fenders, white rear work lamp.
