says sae10w in manual does that mean hytran.....and also says 80w in transmission ..are the TA and trans seperated or together...cause i know yall said hytrans on the TA......curious.........dewy

I would stay with the original in there. The bands are used to it and I would think you might be asking for trouble. All of the drives, yes. But that little box is something I wouldn't mess with other than an oil change. imho

Don't use 80W!!! When I first bought my 300, I changed all the fluids and put 80W in the transmission. Within a couple of months I was using it on a cool fall day pulling hard up a hill and used the TA. It suddenly slipped out of gear and from that point on the TA would not work all the time. It kept slipping out of gear. It cost me $1600 replacing the TA to find out to use HyTran so the sprag clutch would lock up correctly and not slip caused by the 80w.

The manual will say 80W but that was revised when the TAs began failing in cold weather. I read the manual for the 300 and filled my 350 with 80W - only to learn that it is supposed to have transhydraulic fluid. I ran mine for 10 years with 80W and just never used the TA in the winter time (never used it much at all in fact). My 350 now has "303" in the rear end - its much cheaper than 80W anyway.
