Inner and outer rear axle bearings

I have inspected my inner and outer bearings and they all appear to be in good working condition no balls missing no race pieces missing and I was kinda trying to get around replacing them. I am about to go through the process of replacing the axle gaskets and outer axle seal on each axle and I was just wondering do y'all that normally replace the seals in the transmission replace the bearings are not. I feel like the older bearings in them tractors are alot better quality than the new replacement bearings what do y'all normally do?

If by chance you are talking about ball bearings on an IH tractor, I clean them, take a flashlight and look through to the balls, inner and outer races. If not pitted or flaking, bearing not loose, you are good to go. Never spin them with air when cleaning as doing that to a good bearing can make it a worn out bearing, or blown up bearing real fast. Have seen more than a few guys do that. One blew the bearing all over the place.

That's correct the ball bearings well that's good to know I know some guys replace everything when they do a rebuild but them bearings have been in there for 50+ years so I know they are built well

I always check them out just like Pete says. The problem I have found is if it ever had much condensation or water in the rear end, and set for a period of time, many get rust or pits in the balls and races. Just need to look them over really closely. I don't see that well, so I use a flashlight and magnifying glass to look them over real well.

Yes you can reuse. Chances are the way you will use the most important thing will be good clean gear oil The best way to check for play is to jack tractor up, turn wheel to check for noise, take wheel off, and wiggle end of axle. Should be no noticeable play UNLESS you have later 560 Bower flat roller bearings. They will have SLIGHT play even when new.
