I was disking up a small section when the vertical link for the lift arm opposite the gearbox to angle the lift let go. Looks like the rod and the clevis are both cast and the thread on the rod have enough wear and the clevis has enough wear that it can just slip through. I stuck it in the drill press and pinned it in place. I called the sort of local tractor wrecker and he sent me one off a 414 but it's an inch shorter than the old one and the adjusting box on the other side all the way retracted is still too short. Everyone is telling me they should be the same. What I think is correct measure 20" between mounting hole centres and gets longer from there.
The replacement is almost all the way extended at 19" and has a coarser thread than the original one but it's a little loose too only holding by 1 or 2 turns at that length.
