top seeding a hay field

Decided to put some more timothy seed on a hay field I have - about 3.5 acres.Pulled out my horse drawn Ontario drill to do it. The drill is in good shape and has a good grass seeder box so I cleaned out the cobwebs, hooked it to my 42 A and put on some seed. It works nice for top seeding because once its in gear the hoes can be pulled up and held so they aren't dragging on the ground.Also beats walking around with a hand seeder.

I always like to see the old equipment put to use, I'm sure not many use horse drawn equipment any more...Amish and Mennonite excluded. I grew up using horse drawn equip in the 80's cause dad wanted to use the available labor; us and the mules. We were so thrilled when he finally bought a tractor.
Hope you get a good stand of Timothy grass and keep that A busy.
