Ford 8n trade for 400 with loader

I was wondering what you farmall guys think I trade my 8n for a farmall 400 wide front with loader craigslist
southwest mi .the post says TA needs adjusted explain and is tractor inoperadle when ta goes .the tractor loader
needs welding I can do .tires are said to be whether checked . it has fast hitch with 3 point convertion arms.iam
drawn to red my grandfather had a H on a small farm I grew up with.

4 times the tractor. Nope 6 times. the TA is not a deal breaker unless the tractor won't move. I would have no hesitation unless it doesn't run. Jim

How about my 3 point implements working with it. It says 2 point to 3 point conversion but I see no top link on back of tractor.

The link is easy to replace, a bracket to hook it to is needed. There may be a Fast hitch to 3pt with a built in top lin. Jim

Yep, don't wait any longer, either. I don't know how you're trading, but if trading straight across, you're still on the winning side even if you have to put a t/a in it. Get a manual for it, there is a very good description of how to adjust the linkage. Does it have power steering? If it doesn't, you may not be happy with it. Good thing is, you can always add it on. A 3/400 series with power steering, to me is a Cadillac tractor. Almost as good as a modern one.

GO GET IT NOW!!! Like in previous posts the TA is not a deal breaker we had a 1466 that ran with the TA lever back for many years. With no problems. Did all the tillage work with that tractor.....Ken

When a mechanical TA goes out usually it is only the low side - you still have 5 forward gears instead of 10. 5 is still one more than your 8N's 4 gears.

If it is truly an adjustment issue (doubtful) that's not much to fix.
