ok so I'm looking for suggestions on where to start looking on my backhoe.
FWIW- machine is a 2606 industrial model with a loader and a backhoe. has the D236 diesel engine in it
Made a post last week about looking for glow plugs. got them installed on Saturday and now its back to starting fine.
One thing I noticed- I was digging out a massive stump with the backhoe, and if I "strained" the hydraulics and the governor kicked in, when the released the pressure, the engine would return to normal but then it would start to lope. Sometimes it would recover on its own, sometimes it sounded like it was getting worse, and if I revved the engine a bit it would go away.
my first thought is injector issues? we really don't know any history of the machine, got it in 2010 for cheap, but needed an injection pump. We put a new to us pump on off a parts machine. Machine has always smoked pretty good, I just assumed worn rings. but for as little as we use it, I can live with the smoke.
Are injectors available for these engines? or could I pull them and have them checked/rebuilt?
