I-H rod weeder

I'm always looking for cultivators with different styles of action, but I think 14' is too wide for me and I'm not at all familiar with rod weeders. What was it mounted on ? Is it like a field cultivator or a between the row cultivator ?

Thanks

Greg

A rod weeder is a rod that goes under the weeds, mainly to lessen movement of the soil and lose soil in dust and lose water. In other words a implement used for limited tillage. I think it has also been used to lift the weeds before furrows, etc are made. That is not used as limited tillage, but might eliminate a trip over the field.

Yes, it's just a horizontal shaft that turns,[ground driven] behind the last rank of shovels to lift the weeds up, and leave them up on top to control erosion. I be real honest never knew IH made one , But there used extensevly in the drier wheat country, in their summer fallow program.
