Well I took the day off to do some work on the 606 before i start all the fall chores ( cleaning barns, turning the compost pile, knocking down the garden, moving bales). The honey do list took all of the holiday weekend to complete so today is just me wrenching. I had to replace the power steering lines to the steering cylinder. replace and bleed.
The next thing was to replace the main jet packing in the carb. it has been dripping since spring. if you have never worked on a 606 with a 2000 loader on it, what a pain, loader frame is in the way for everything. I take the packing nut and jet out and reach up in there with a pick, can't really feel anything. try looking in with a mirror and light, no dice. hmmm so I pull the carb off to get a good look. what do you know the old packing must have fallen out in the spring when i was troubleshooting a fuel problem out in the pasture. Man i felt stupid and mad all at the same time! I guess it happens to everyone from time to time.
Only thing left for the day is to get it good and hot, drain the Hy-tan and engine oil and replace filters.
