I'm new to recently acquired IH 656 Hydro. Is there a filter somewhere, internal or external for the hydro transmission?

There are two filters. One(main hydralic) undre the brake pedald, behind a teardrop shaped 'plate'.Some later ones have two
thomb screws to remoove.Two.Transmission filter, A canister filter in front of the brake pedals.Uses a 1 5/8 " wrench(I
think,may be bigger)to remove.Both are available from NAPA.If you haven't already ordered a book,do so 'yesterday'.

That's the filter description for a large frame Hydro.

A small frame has a main filter behind a large round cast cover on the right, lower, rear side of the transmission housing and a screw on recirculating filter (if equipped) on the left side by the starter motor.
