Farmall mounted implements (pics)

Been working on a few of the HM mounted
implements. Got the hm238 cultivators set up
and adjusted using the 41 MD. Next I have
been finishing up getting the hm280 planter
together on the 41 H. Still need to replace
one seed hopper and install 4 drop tubes and
1 fertilizer deep applicator, the planter
will be fully operational when finished.
Last night I started installing the mounting
frames to mount the hm150 disc plow on the
41 MD, pics of that to follow.

today we get done with one implement, unhook from the 3 point and pick up another in a few minutes. Looking at those mounted implements I can't help but think about how much time a farmer spent hooking them up and unhooking and having to readjust each time. Also the lifting and all to do it.

I realy like to see implements on old tractors thats how we got here. By now everyone has seen a tractor but what did they do with them. Im getting an A with the veggie cult exhaust lift ready for Old Threshers next week. I guarantee it is the only one in the state and maybe more states i have never seen one at any shows. They also had one for the B,BN and C along with Cub. I also have the four row fert but i wont have it on maybe next yr at RED POWER.

When I was a kid dad had a C which was our cultivator tractor, and mowing tractor. Many time I would go out and cultivate for a while in the morning, then take the cultivator off and mount the mower, then go back to the cultivator when I got the hay mowed. Learned real quick how to switch implements, although we didn't take the fron clear off. Just the four lower gangs. Used to cultivate about 100 acres of corn three times with the C. Never stopped cultivating except to make hay or harvest oats. (Dad wire checked his corn at that time)

As to the plow, 3 disks will pull in 2nd gear on an H, at least in silt loam, perhaps not in clay. The M will pull it easily in 3rd, and with 4 disks, except that IH did not put 4 disks on it. If you have the "frames" to attach underneath you are lucky, as we never removed it. As to cultivation, we used those rear wheels set at 80 inches on an H for narrow rows (20 inch) for vegetables with a single rubber tire in front--usually changed to rubber tires and dual fronts for tillage. Actually I did not notice the difference for pulling on rubber on tillage, even with those narrow lugs.

jim, i pulled a 3 bottom hm150 with my H that i had. by looking at your photos, looks like you got everything mounted correctly. gotta admit their a pain to mount but they will flat turn the ground. ill look to see if i still have some photos of the 3 bottom on my H

Took me about 30-45 minutes to mount the plow--we tried to do all the plowing before removing--never in the same day.

(quoted from post at 12:15:44 08/25/16). . . Looking at those mounted implements I can't help but think about how much time a farmer spent hooking them up and unhooking and having to readjust each time. . . .
Compare to the time spent each day dealing with harnesses on a team of horses and it looks pretty good.

Looks like you have you have done it Jim . Do I see the delayed rear
lift on the H . I am still looking for some parts for the H M 220 check row.
Went to the Tri state show in Portland In. Fri. They said over 400 I H
there . Did not see one tractor with equipment attached what a shame .
Two Bs had manure spreaders one cub had cults but that was it .
It seems yu or effort and my effort to keep dad's Original farming set
Is a thing of the past , what a shame . Good luck in your effort . If you still
Need copies of any of my owner manuals let me know.

Thanks dave, yes I got the delayed lift
rockshaft from one of the forum members
here. The planter is comming together
nicely, I have a friend picking up a hm220
planter and hm221 cultivators for me today
in Indiana. Think I have everything I need
for both planter and all the cultivators. As
of right now implements wise I have,
hm238,hm221,hm250 and m448 cultivators. 25v
mower, #8 plow,hm150 disc plow, H186 mounted
2 way plows,hm28p and hm220 planters.
Looking at another set of H86 plows and 35A
tractor disc. The tractors are cool but I
really like the implements...
