FARMALL H CARB

H had sat for about 6 mos with gas runnin out the carb. Finally took it apart and saw the float "tang" was halfway out and the needle couldn't seat. Anyway cleaned it up, new needle/seat and gaskets, runs like a top. Was wondering if the tang needs to be smashed on the end, or is the carb bowl supposed to keep it in?

Look it over very carefully, and you will see what holds the float in place. Nothing needs to be "smashed".

The float hinge pin came out because who ever worked on it before spread the clinching end of the hanger out too far. Have to make sure that it pinches the pin nice and snug. Easy.
