B275-Which fuel filter?

Hello All!...just purchased a B275 as my first tractor and first job was to clean out the fuel system and change fuel filter however, when searching for the filter it appears there are several listed for the B275 including a metal canister type and a paper type.

Tractor is an early 1960 model with a metal CAV filter bowl and a vertical shaft that runs through the centre. The current filter inside does not need seem to fit and moves appears to up and down when its all assembled and the spring at the bottom of the shaft appears to do nothing. I'll try to post some pics of the current setup....

It is hard to tell if there is a washer /plate with a sealing sort of material between the spring and the filter. I would expect there to be one. That would keep the spring from slipping into the hole in the end of the filter element. Otherwise It looks like that filter should be close.
A better way to see would be to take a look at caseih .com and then take the housing in when you go get filters.

Filter shown is not correct.
Correct filter is (IH) 704640R91 or (Fram) C11838PL.
You are missing a washer and seal ring that should fit above the spring, the seal comes with the genuine filter, but there are 2 different washers listed (serial number break) - check the Case-IH parts web site.
Sorry, could not see a listing on this site for the Diesel filter..

Thanks so much guys..it all makes sense now. I'm still pretty new to the vintage tractor thing and still trying to find the best sources for information and the CaseIH.com site will prove very useful during the restoration.

Early B275 with the in-line BPE CAV pump should have a fuel-filter housing marked CAV F2B 6. Correct filter is a NAPA 3114 (and I'm sure other make part #s).
