I'm trying to bring an M back from the dead for some friends.
It has sat in dry storage for so long they don't remember when
it last ran. It was not stuck and they don't know why it was parked.
While doing the normal preliminary checks I pulled the plugs
and rolled it over to get oil pressure and do a compression test.
#3 cylinder blows antifreeze out. Every time and seems to refill
in between turns of rolling it over.
My question is what is the likely cause on this particular engine?
Were they prone to cracked heads/blocks or is it more likely
just a blown head gasket? Something else entirely?
