is there a adjustment on fan assembly pulley ,,cause tractor has 12v alternator ,belt goes to second grove on fan assembly pulley.seperate belt......fan belt is hooked to crank shaft pulley only...... and is loose...i did not see a way to tighten it....i will look better in morning..when some one took generator out ,,, and if that was the way to tighten fan and crank belt..something looks wrong .....thanks dewy

The big belt is loose and needs to be. It does not slip. Pushing as hard as you can in the middle of the span it should move more than an inch, and less than an inch and a half. Tightening is done by adjusting the front 1/2 of the fan pulley toward the rear 1/2. It is a threaded component and has a set screw Mostly frozen in place from never being adjusted. Wire brush the threads well, PB blaster, modest heat, removal of the set screw and PB down the threaded hole, more heat (propane only) and a brass drift on the ribs. Many small taps, no whacking with abandon it will break. Sometimes it takes a day of messing to get them free. Jim Did you find the casting #?

thanks for info... i did find cast no.. they make that key in the diagram like it is loose,,seperate from center...is that correct..that looks like a hassle to use.....thanks dewy

Not a hassle, just a single insertion upon assembly, then it stays in position. it is also replaceable where as if a built in key shears, the hub is toast or requires broaching to remake the keyway. Jim
