farmall 300 rear hub clamps key and key way

key is sticking out of hub clamp.. hub clamp looks smaller than other side...cast center is not in key way of axel....wheel will lean when not on flat ground,,,,hub clamp looks like not made with key in clamp like a 200 does.....why would they make it like that.......rim is double ribbed......what other cast centers will fit 300 axels and double ribbed rim.........thanks dewy

8 spoke wheel? If so sounds like someone put a H axle clamp in. No key used for axle clamp on 8 spoke wheels, ones made for double bevel rims just in wheel. Those clamps should have 3/4 diameter fine thread bolts with 2 clamps with 2 bolts each clamp. H clamp used coarse threads. Two different 8 spoke wheels used on a 300, first type had key cast in, later a machined keyway and key was used. Pretty sure I remember the later ones cast number started with 364 with other lower. Information is for 2.5 axles.
Can use 8 spoke wheel from 300, 350 and 460 with 2.5 diameter axles.

thanks slater it is 8 spoke 2.5 axel casting no. is 363019R2 ..have not taken apart yet the side thats broke has key hanging out of cast center..the clamp definitly is not keyed...i cant really see if the center or clamp is broke,,what is letting the hole wheel lean when in bind,,unlevel ground......clamp looks tight on axel but cast center has slipped off of keyway about a half in.............thanks so much......dewy

Pretty sure 363019r2 wheel had a piece for keyway cast with wheel. Saw some repaired with a key grove cut in wheel and the steel key used. May be what you have if it's steel and not cast sticking out. R3 was the first with key.
