Farm All H carb fitting............

Back to this - I pulled up the number for this fitting up on Steiner and other places- says it is "1/4" pipe by 5/16 inverted flare"...... I tried a 1/4" pipe plug last night and it started but threads were "too" course. I think the carb side is something else...??? If all fails I will try to tap carb out with a 1/4" pipe tap.....
any thoughts would be appreciated.....thanks !
 
With out going out and pulling that carb out of the trunk I cannot tell you the exact size but I do not think it is a pipe tread. Plus I sure would not try to tap any carb because that could be a very costly mistake.

The original fuel linlet fitting is NOT pipe thread. If it were pipe thread, you wouldn't need the gasket.
 
Search for number 29902DX in search boxes. You should find plenty, this site also comes up in a search for one. Not pipe thread.
 
It is not "pipe thread"....so I brought home my tap and die set from work; tryed a few taps - it is 1/2 by 20 thread.....(sae)bolt thread. Now to find a fitting- I will try the number I was given earlier. Thanks !
 
With the carb fitting and the ferrule/nut for the line still available at the local FIAT (CIH dealer), WHY are you trying to "reinvent the wheel"????

Ask your dealer to get off the computer and look it up in the original Farmall H parts catalog. I'll bet he has it in stock.
 
Get a different dealer. Think the places listing it with 1/4 pipe threads are making a mistake and it's really the one you need if they list as working for 29902DX.
