On the wiring- mine is all pretty much junk; tractor does run but the harness, as such, is not good and most wires are "bare"....make my own?

I always make my own. But also my tractor are 12 volts and no lights. It is pretty simple and only something like 4 or 4 wires to run. Ignition uses one wire and the alternator uses 3 wires if you include the short wire form the #2 terminal to the charge stud as a wire

I'm very pleased with the wire harnesses I have purchased from Porch Electric for my Farmall tractor restorations, Hal.

Your owners manual has the wiring schematic in it. Also, do a search for "BobMs" wiring diagrams if you want a simplified version. I always make my own wiring harness.

This tractor is pretty rough on wiring; so do I take my ignition switch wire straight to the battery? with a fuse? Thanks.

Ignition wire should come off the amp gauge that way you can see what amps the ignition pulls and all

Sorry no. I change my tractors over to 12 volts with a Delco 10SI alternator so the V.R. is built into the alternator
