help me rig up some headlights on my Farmall A

I have the buckets, but no lenses/backing plates/bulbs. This is only YARD ART and w/NOT be running, so I"m looking for something to simply plug the holes that looks like a light and for a reasonable price. Found some 4.5" diameter sealed beams for cheap, and the buckets seem to be right at 4.5, so I may try them. What are your thoughts or better ideas. george in NC

Thanks, It appears that you feel like the 4.5" sealed beams I showed would fit the stock housings? Again, I dont care if they are not 100 %, but I do want them to look right. Hoping that you or someone else here had used standard 4.5" beams to replace the old bulb assembles on the Farmalls. Again, THANKS!

There are probably built in alignment tabs on the back that can be ground off using a standarg grinder, belt sander, or angle grinder. the tabs should be ground
no more than 5 seconds at each tab. this prevents heat from building up and breaking the bulb. Jim

Ive seen some over the years where the sealed beam was put in the teardrop housings. One in particular, the guy has cut up an old innertube and wrapped the light a couple of time, wired it up and tightened the clamp. It held. Ive seen some where the housing was stuffed with everything from inner tubes to cloth to cotton. It can be done.

Im thinking the 4.5's may be a tight/close fit for the stock buckets, but, I dont mind performing some light surgery on the bulbs or even slightly flairing the lip of the buckets.......again, thanks for all the ideas and comments. George
