Childhood tractor

The 64 706d that I grew up on just came up for sale
It's a plain Jane model factory ta delete , no 3pt or
fast hitch, clamshell fenders. Has a mh style
drawbar and 2 remotes (originally had 1) there's no
mistaking that this's the one that appeared on the
farm when I was 9. Starts right up seems to run well
Shift seems right has just over 7000 hrs guy wants
5 k for it. I want it back

Sounds like a "Wheatland". Our 856 was outfitted just as yours and had a heavy duty swinging drawbar. They were a bit different as they had those clamshell fenders and headlights in the grill. I'd be selling an arm to get it back if I were you.

I think now is your chance to buy it back, yeah it's a little high, but if you keep it for 20 years, that's only 250 @ year !

It is over priced but you still should consider it. Two years ago I bought the 1968 4020 that my Dad bought new back at public sale. Dad paid $6800 for it and sold it for $5300 in 1972 to get enough money for down payment on a farm. The neighbor bought it and took great care of it and it now has 6000 hours. I had to pay $9750 for it.It was enough money but I am not sorry yet that we bought it back especially since Dad passed away in 2000. Tom

Haveing the tractor you learned on? Priceless. Dont quibble, just buy it NOW.If you dont buy it,you will regret for the rest of your life....... BTDT :(

I still have the tractor that that I grew up on ( 47 Farmall B). It has seen a lot of use and rebuilt three times.
