Both remotes work one direction only, once implement is lifted only way to lower is losen fitting to release pressure. Have tried multiple implements. Any thoughts guidance is much appreciated.

Is this tractor new to you. Are you a Case man. Reason I ask is that old Case tractors had top outlets for one remote and bottom for other. Most all other tractors including IH have pair together for one valve and other pair for other valve on other side.

Thank you for responding, I've had the tractor for several years but only used the loader and 3 point hitch without issue. Recently tried to use 2 different disc mower conditioners with same result described above. I double checked to ensure I had the hoses connected correctly.

well, then it sounds like a coupler problem. They used a couple under pressure style quick coupler and they have to balance out. Tips get worn or spring weak and male tip won't open to let load down. Maybe.

I imagine you have a separate set of valves for the loader?

Most mower conditioners I've seen use one-way cylinder(s) for the lift and lowering function. How many hoses are you hooking up?

Your 674's remotes should have a "float" function by pushing the lever one notch past the "lower" position. That causes the remote to relieve pressure on both lines and let whatever is connected lower via gravity. Try that.

You're correct raise and lower has one hose, our mowers have a cylinder to move the mower in position. And your correct again, I have a float position but even in that position the pressure won't release. I've replaced couplers and still have the issue. I'm stumped.

I just looked in the parts manual and it does not show a check valve on that model tractor. Those check valves were common on other tractors to keep the load from settling. Did, by chance, someone plumb in a check valve block between valves and couplers. A check valve requires pressure build up to release the check valve so on a single hose hookup you would have to hold the lever under pressure to lower. There is nothing in the valves themselves to give you your problem if they are moving both directions properly. If it has a check valve you could take plugs out and take balls and spring out. I do that on loader tractors or any application where you want to use float.
Also, I would take the couplers right out of the system and hook hose direct to pipe from valve to test. Couplers can drive you nuts.

If you have dissimilar couplers they can get out of alignment and then not go back down or up depending on the one that got out of line. Can also cause it to not go up. Like the old IH with the tip and pioneer with the ball. Both will go together but can also do the afore mentioned problem.

My tractor has 2 remotes, 1 with float, 1 without then the end plate on the valve stack has a pipe fitting that feeds the loader. Any chance the way the loader is plumbed into the end cap is causing the issue. Thanks

Not that I've done such things before but if all 4 hookups are
stacked together are you hooking them up right ? Instead or using
both upper fitting or both lower use top and bottom on one side .
