Single wire diagram for 12v alternator on Farmall H

Does anyone have a diagram for the single wire alternator? Just switched from 6v generator to 12v alternator but no diagram came with it. Thanks

That is a simple switch the wires on the amp gauge and then run the wire from the alternator to the none load side of the amp gauge.

Very simple:

1 - Swap the wires at the two ammeter posts.

2 - Run a #10 wire from the alternator post to the ammeter post that has two (or more...) wires on it.

Don't have a diagram, but here's the notes I made many years ago for switching my H from 6 to 12;
-+12 Volt Alternator Original verbatim notes;
(Might have installed the alternator December 1991, might have bought it and hardware at NAPA.)
GM alternator
With internal regulator
73-85
$10
Resistor IRC23
~$125
Reverse coil wires
Reverse the battery
Reverse wires on amp gage
everything will be negative ground
Start button new resistor coil
Leave old voltage regulator
Run ?B?attery terminal to ?BA? terminal on alternator
Remove ?GEN? wire and scrap it.
Remove ?F? wire and scrap it.

Well, I personally would not buy a 1 wire Delco to convert an H especially if a large bodied delco as it will be a near impossible fit under the sheet metal although it can be done.

Why not go 3 wire so it charges a low rpm? A 1 wire will not charge at low rpm unless you rev the engine then it might.

Here is copy paste link to my thread using a smaller bodied 3 wire with pics
