cyclo 400 soybean seed drum

My son wants to do some small scale farming and he has a few small fields where he wants to rotate between corn and soy beans. We bought this cyclo 400 planter for $200.00 so not a lot invested. I know they are not the best but I think it will get him started and see if he wants to keep to doing it. This planter is real nice . The owner said the dry fertilizer didn't work one year when the got it out but I think what happened is he always took the augers out to clean out the fertilizer but he swapped the augers side to side and then it was trying to auger the fertilizer the wrong way. But the question I have is does anyone know where we could get a soy bean seed drum for this planter? Also this planter needs the hoses for the fertilizer. I think the previous owner robbed these for his other planter

Jim i had a No. 58 with dry fertilizer, measure it from the bottom of the fert box, to the opener boot, and see if the 100 grain drill is long enough, or maybe you can find some good ones from another planter, in a salvage yard. I would think John Deere is the same diameter.

You can still buy new hoses but they are 35.00 a piece.

I found these hoses but there are no dimensions so I don't know for sure if they would work.

So you need a drum's also, you know the 6 row drum fits the 4 row planter, their are some big rubber bands that go on the 1st and the 6th row, I have no idea where to look for a supply of drum's, other than a salvage yard !

Try Koelzer's They are in Ne KS 913-558-0372 This is Joe's number. Good people his dad has a used Ih planter parts yard and they are just farmers.

I think the soy drum has 144 shallow dimples. I've never actually seen one.Around here most bean drums were the 72 hole dry bean drums. The
pockets look to be the same as on the corn drum. These will work for soys but you have to drive slower.
