Fluid levels in 460 LP

I just bought this 460 Farmall and thanks to the help on this site, found the broken wire going to the coil and got it started, but sounds like it needs powers steering fluid and also want to check the trans. fluid. I have a manual coming, but wondering if someone would be so kind to tell me where to check the fluids and also where to add if needed. I have the TA and PTO levers figured out, but also what do the 3 levers on right side of tractor control?? Hate to ask stupid questions, but was always told it was not stupid unless you assumed and did not ask. Thanks again in advance.

It probably needs new Hy-Tran fluid and a filter change. Sounds like you should be getting an owners manual.

If it has a fast hitch or a 3pt, The inner lever is often plumbed for that use. If a plane draw bar, the levers are all for remote hydraulics. Jim

There is a small bolt on the side of the transmission case by the clutch petal , this is where you check the fluid level and a big plug to the side of the gear shifter is where you pour it in , I would remove the odd shaped cover on the brake petal side ( has 6 bolts) and replace filter before adding or whatever with oil as they stop up and ruin pumps. You may also want to change/flush hydraulic system . Hope this gets you started.

I will second the filter change for the hydraulics.

On the 460lp I just bought the filter had partly collapsed due to being clogged and age. I was not surprised to find it like that as I've seen it on 560's before. People don't change them for some reason.
