Original barn find cub

Came across a good find over weekend a original 47 ? 48? Cub the man got from said it came from older couple farm here in Tennessee. Said was only used to clear fence lines with and when he got it, it was in the bottom of the barn with 50 year old hay on it and 10ich dust etc. but everything is all original
Decals even the original IH muffler.....(; anyone know if this one is a 47 or 48 year model ? I think the 1947 models started in 501 numbers and went from there.my numbers are 47559

Yeah what thoug was ... Good old 1948 thanks for info I like the cub pretty darn good beat tractor just about must farms had one from what I've read. The tires on this one are good years there is a sales papers in toolbox said they was put on in 1959 but hardly no cracks at all on them.

Yeah man! I never though about buying a cub until good friend had one and still does his is a 52 sharp all original has just about ever implement you can think of for it I play around on it and and decide I needed one man this one pretty darn sharp some
Old timer had taking good care of it back when. I've had many big tractors so this my 1st small one and seem like it more that the larger ones I have.

well you got me beat then for tires,,i got one tractor with a set of 64 models, Firestone, ALL Traction Tires, they look good yet too.

Yeah.... These tires have fluid and the wheels weights ? Still not sure why fluid is in the rear seeing that there is wheel weighs on there hummmmmm? I well I guess. But the tires are in unreal condition ! Still have the faded chalk number on the inside where they was inventory I guess.

I know i have taken all my fluid out, and replaced the equal amount of weight. with cast iron donuts, but on all of mine it was doing damage to the rim. If their not leaking, might just leave it alone.

]Wes what part of TN are ya in? that's a nice ole cub you have found. I have a 58 I think but its not as nice as that one

I have a 1948 Farmall Cub with s/n in the 42K range . it was built in Aug 1948. I am the second owner. I like the sickle bar mower and wish I had one. Mine has the magneto. Good little machine. The engine is 60 cc and about 10 horse power. A very nice fin d for you.

Yeah I'm just off the interstate just about 1
9 miles from the va state line. I've had many
different tractors but really like the cub neat small
but does a lot on the farm Farmall knew what they
was doing back in the day.

Wes there is a ole boy 3miles off I 40 at exit 317 in Crossville his name is dale shaw he deals with nothing but used cub tractors he has or knows where bouts of just about anything you could need for your cub he has treated me well over the last few years

Wes, that is one cherry ride there! I'm envious of it and its history. I see the Pittman rod is still intact, which speaks of it being shedded.
I plan on getting a sickle mower for my 450.

I wonder if the seat is original; the seat color was a much debated topic on here recently.
If mine all I'd do is wash it and rub it down to make it shine a little, then go mow a pasture.
Again, congrats on a lovely cub.

Yeah ..... It's in amazing shape the older woman
told the guy go from said he only used it to cut
around fence head to keep brush
Down ! I've got original battery box with it and the
wrenches in the tool box to they are a treat also!!!
This man took really good care of this tractor.... The
rear tires had fluid in them so I decided to drain
them out in which I found the fluid to be ( blue )
which I think it's wash fluid ha. But very cool tractor
glad I grab it befor got gone.
