First I'm new to fixing up old tractors so any advice is appreciated. I have what I think is a 1946 A. the serial plate is as follows...Model (A) Serial no. ( F.A.B 165615 ) My question is all the information I found said that model A's are F.A.A. The engine is offset and split front tires. Any thoughts?

Somebody put a "B" seat support on your "A", (or put different front and rear axles on an "A")!

ok thanks. Ive been trying to figure out if I was just missing something or what..

If that were the case, the model would show as B. Probably the guy stamping picked up the wrong letter nd just let it go or didnt pay any attention to it.

I agree, John M. Missed that in the first post.

Ok thanks guys. a 2 sec mistake 70 years ago has cost me a few hours of time trying to fig out what I had.

The engine number should be the same 6 digits as the serial number. It is stamped into a flat boss at the top edge of the block, roughly below the #1 spark plug. What prefix got stamped there?

(quoted from post at 00:19:51 07/28/16) I happen to have one of those lift levers laying around. What would one of them be worth?

$150 - $200 depending on completeness and which implement it hooks to.
